For father’s day, my grandfather got one of those really loud Baby Ben alarm clocks from me and my mother. And whenever he gets an alarm clock he has to “test it” in order to “make sure it will wake [him] up”. He just started complaining because “I just woke up and this stupid thing didn’t wake me up”. So I asked him what time he set it for. “3am.” …..It was 2:56am. And then when I tried to point out this fact, he could not seem to grasp the concept that–at 2:56am–3am had not happened yet.

Transgender woman arrested for wearing sheer top, jailed with men.
Ashley Del Valle is a transgender woman from New York who was arrested in Georgia for indecent exposure after she allegedly showed her breasts, but then was housed in an all-male jail.I just.
You arrest her because her top is too sheer and shows her nipples, something that is only a crime for women.
And then you jail her as a man.

This is… I… wow. You can’t say “Oh well you’re woman enough to commit a woman!crime but you’re still man enough that we’re putting you in prison with men”. What. The. Hell. If she’s being arrested for something that’s a crime only for females then she can’t be jailed with males. Last time I checked the legal system only recognizes two genders in this country. So either she’s male and she’s fully welcome to show her manly nipples or she’s female and she should be imprisoned for showing her femme nipples with other females. If a legal system only recognizes two genders and says you are either one or the other, THEY CAN’T TREAT HER AS BOTH.

D.C. police officer in transgender shooting sentenced to time served

A D.C. police officer is going on probation after being sentenced Thursday to the 14 months behind bars he already served for shooting at a car full of transgender prostitutes who refused to pick him up. Kenneth Furr, 48, was found guilty in October of several charges, including assault with intent to kill while armed.
D.C. Superior Court Judge Russell Canan sentenced Furr to five years in prison and 30 days for solicitation of prostitution, and suspended all but 14 months of that time on the condition that Furr successfully complete three years of supervised probation. The judge credited the time that Furr had already spent in custody toward his sentence; as a result, Furr remains free and is now on probation.
According to charging documents, in the early morning hours of Aug. 26, 2011, Furr, who was off duty, attempted to pick up transgender prostitutes in the area of Fifth and K streets NW. Furr followed one of them into the CVS pharmacy at 400 Massachusetts Avenue, and continued to solicit one of the prostitutes. The store’s security officer, and off-duty D.C. police officer, asked Furr to leave.
Outside the store, he pulled gun on one of the victims, who then reported the incident to the security officer at the pharmacy, charging documents said. After Furr identified himself as a police officer, the security officer ceased his investigation and let him go, prosecutors said. About 20 minutes later, the transgender group drove by and found Furr in the area of 5th and K trying to pick up another transgender prostitute.
The complainants pulled their car next to Furr’s, and at least one of the occupants in the complainants’ car assaulted Furr. Furr sped off and the complainants’ car followed. Furr got out of his vehicle and began shooting toward their vehicle. The driver of the victims’ car ducked and hit the accelerator, crashing into the side of Furr’s vehicle. Furr then jumped on the hood of the occupied vehicle and continued shooting, firing a total of five rounds. Three of the occupants of the car suffered injuries.
It wasn’t the first time Furr has gotten into trouble. He was arrested in 2004 for driving while intoxicated and operating while impaired, according to court records. He pleaded no contest and the charges were dropped after he completed a diversion program.

kids are not fucking mature enough to make a huge decision like dropping out of school before they’re 18. It should be mandatory you go through education. You might as well put the kids who don’t go to highschool on the electric chair because as far as i’m concerned, uneducated people are useless no matter what kind of physical labor they can do. Now people will reply to this with some bullshit like it isn’t their choice.. there is NO excuse to not just get through 12 years of school. It’s not even that hard.

I know this is a waste of my time and space on my blog with yr gross post, but I’m going to just make a few succinct points refuting your claim anyways because it such bullshit.
1. It’s not bullshit to say “it isn’t their choice.” Because IT’S NOT A CHOICE FOR SOME PEOPLE. Some people have learning disabilities. Some people are bullied. Some people may need to earn money to survive, ECTECT these are only a few examples of ways in which education, even via public schools, is inaccessible to different people.
2. Getting through 12 years of school is anything but easy. Sure, it’s easy for some. But to successfully get through 12 yrs of school requires: being able/willing to learn in very specific ways or have access to personalized lessons (rare in public schools); being able/willing to socialize with peers (if in public school) without problems which may affect ones education; having access to transportation. Home schooling requires having someone (parent/guardian/etc) willing and able to teach you + certification in most places I’m sure.
3. Some people may just not like school or want to be in school. This doesn’t say anything about their intelligence, work ethic, or how they will contribute to society. Period.
This isn’t a very good breakdown but considering how shitty your response is, it’s enough.
I dropped out at 15 for missing too many days of class thanks to major depression. I got my GED and started college a year later, and this is more than my father was able to do. He had to drop out to help support a family of 16 after his mother died.
But it’s not like you’ll even look at replies that don’t agree with you, ~your opinion~ and all.
Guess I’m just too useless to live, since that doesn’t seriously have racist, classist, and ableist connotations at all.
So does this basically eliminate all options for gifted students to start college early? I would have probably fucking killed myself out of frustration if I had had to go through high school without skipping it! And what about people who just aren’t cut out for finishing highschool due to their own various reasons? All things do not work for all people!
